Vision Statement
The vision of the English Language Education (ELE) program at the Mendon-Upton Regional School District is to empower our English Learners to achieve academic success, while preparing them to be lifelong learners who become social and cultural leaders in their diverse local and global communities.

  Mission  Statement

This mission of the ELE program is to provide a standards-based, systematic, and explicit language instruction for English Learners designed to develop social, instructional, and academic language. A language-focused, content rich, and technologically progressive curriculum aligned to the WIDA ELD Standards and grade level core-content standards enables our EL students to become successful individuals in the mainstream classroom and overall school environment. To increase English proficiency for our linguistically diverse ELs, we seek mastery through rigorous instruction that also aims to meet 21st century demands and essential social and emotional competencies.
